SHAPES FROM THE LANDSCAPE, SHADES FROM HISTORY

My name is Krista Kuortti, and I am a ceramist and designer from Kangasala. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Culture and Arts with a focus on ceramics. I create handcrafted ceramic pieces in my small studio located next to the church in the historic Seurahuone, high society club, building. Although many of the beautiful features of this property, which was built in the late 1800s, have been lost over the years, it remains a significant part of Kangasala's history. This building is one of the oldest in the village and was the first hotel and restaurant established to cater to the summer tourists visiting Kangasala.
